10 October 2025The RECOCER Foundation and the Friuli Hill Community are leading one of seven European pilot projects on Cross-Border Energy Communities.
The “Cross-Border Energy Community Friuli–Goriška” project, in collaboration with GOLEA and the Green Technology Center – R&D, aims to create a Quasi-Cross-Border Energy Community (Q-CBEC) between Friuli Venezia Giulia and the Goriška region, fostering cross-border cooperation for clean energy.
Selected by the European Commission – DG REGIO as part of the CBEC Pilot Actions initiative, the project will develop a shared roadmap, governance models, and common financial instruments over the next 12 months, generating environmental, economic, and social benefits for citizens, SMEs, and local governments, with a model that can be replicated in other border regions.
